for Job description
for Vanderlande’s Site Management Department is responsible for the installation and project execution of material handling systems, warehouse automation sorting systems for our customers throughout North America. The increasing number of new projects and their geographic distribution means that the team is growing and expanding. A mechanical installer will assist you with installation, assembly, disassembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery. This role is 100% travel with an expectation of working 55-60 hours per week and offers time and a half pay for all time worked after age 40.
for Essential functions (job duties and responsibilities)

• Works with highly complex and industry-specific precision machines, including but not limited to high-speed classifiers, all types of conveyors, hydraulic systems, pumps, gears, bearings, compressors, etc. .
• Help with the assembly of bearings, align gears and wheels, connect motors and connect belts according to the manufacturer’s plans and drawings
• Help with the dismantling of machines using hammers, wrenches tools, levers and other hand tools
• Assist with the unloading, inspection, movement and positioning of the equipment using cranes, forklifts, dollies, rollers and trucks
• Usesrigging and lifting devices such as chokers, chains falls off and approaches to move equipment/materials to place
• Follow supervisor’s instructions

Necessary qualifications, education and experience

• Must have 1 to 2 years of experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to meet all demands physical; see below
• Must have experience using hand and power industrial tools
• Must have tools – list will be provided
• Must have reliable transportation and power work 7 days as needed

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working as a mechanical installer assistant on a new construction project
• Formal/technical education

Knowledge-Skills-Skills (competences)

• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• Knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment
• Practical knowledge of cables, ropes, hoists and strings
• Organization and time management
• Good aptitude and manual dexterity
• Knowledge of mathematical concepts, geometry and design
• Good understanding reading
• Ability to work with others – team player
• Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors
