You can expect ongoing specialized training once on board and opportunities to work on some of the Bureau’s more complex cases. Salary level:

  • $ 62,556.00 – $ 80,721.00

Salary is commensurate with experience and position.

Duties: Candidates must:

  • Adhere to rigorous standards of conduct.
  • Undergo rigorous background investigations, credit checks and polygraphs to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) Authorization.
  • Pass a Physical Fitness Test (PFT); must be physically fit to complete training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia and maintain a high level of fitness throughout his career.
  • Pass a medical exam, which includes, but it is not limited to, visual encounter and auditory standards.
  • Completesuccessfully worked around 19 weeks as a Special Agent trainee, while residing at the FBI Academy at Quantico.
  • After graduating from the FBI Academy, be available for transfer to one of 56 local FBI offices, including San Juan, Puerto Rico or remote resident agencies (satellite offices) to meet the needs of the FBI. Special agents rarely return to their processing office. Applicants must ensure their families are prepared for and support this transfer.
  • Throughout your career, be available for temporary positions anywhere in the world, on a temporary or long-term basis.
  • Work a minimum of 50 hours per week, which may include irregular hours, and be on call 24/7, including holidays and weekends.
  • Be available and able to participate in arrests, carry out search warrants, raids and similar assignments.

Additionally, all Special Agent candidates must successfully complete the Special Agent Selection System (SASS), a mentally and physically demanding process designed to find only the most capable candidates. The selection process typically takes a year or more to complete.

Key Requirements: Applicants must:

  • Adhere to rigorous standards of conduct.
  • Undergo rigorous background investigations, credit checks and polygraphs to earn a Top Authorization of confidential information to sensitive compartments (SCI).
  • Pass a physical fitness test (PFT); must be physically fit to complete training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, emaintain a high level of fitness throughout your career.
  • Pass a medical exam, which includes, but is not limited to, visual meeting and hearing standards.
  • Successfully complete approximately 19 weeks of work as a special agent trainee while at the FBI Academy at Quantico.
  • Upon graduation from the FBI Academy, be available for transfer to one of the 56 camps of the FBI. FBI Offices, including San Juan, Puerto Rico or remote resident agencies (satellite offices) to meet the needs of the FBI. Special agents rarely return to their processing office. Applicants must ensure their families are prepared for and support this transfer.

Education:

  • Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in computer science, forensic science, computer technology, or similar disciplines) from an accredited college or university in the United States .
