Position Description
Saudi Aramco, long known for its leadership in oil exploration, production, and refining, is seeking experienced professionals to join our Downstream Global Base Oil Business. We have an immediate requirement to recruit a lubricant base oil technical expert. Saudi Aramco’s position as a world-leading energy producer offers unique opportunities for growth and integration in downstream.
The candidate will be responsible for managing internal and external communications through strong partnerships with management, affiliate network, key stakeholders, corporate communications, and department divisions and organizations. This integrated approach will allow for shared stakeholder input and buy-in, as well as improved alignment within corporate standards, ultimately resulting in stronger, more impactful, messaging, deliverables, and positive business outcomes.
Develop and support strategic communication planning, projects, services, and deliverables; advise and consult with BO&FL divisions, affiliate network, supporting organizations, and corporate organizations as required, for the following: base oils, finished lubricants, and retail/TBD. Provide integrated marketing support to strategic initiatives, core messaging and key projects. Set, review, publish, and deploy communications procedures, guidelines, and GIs as required; develop, deploy and monitor public relations efforts, social media coverage, and international media opportunities that support and market BO&FL objectives. Align and work with Corporate and Alliance key stakeholders, to develop best practices that build capability within BO&FL.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor degree, preferably in journalism, English or public relations
Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic is highly desirable
A broad knowledge of energy company operations, policies, organizational structures, and challenges, including composing comprehensive letters and reports and presenting information about them effectively to the public
Thorough knowledge of the customs and traditions of Saudi Arabia and the Arab World
Experienced in managing confidential matters
Must be highly attuned to Company, governmental and cultural sensitivities, and expected to impart authoritative information about the company
Must be highly sensitive to the information policies of the Government and the Company, display a high degree of tact at all times, and be personable and have a mature outlook
Ability to present the corporate image effectively, and thorough knowledge and interest in industry public relations, marketing, advertising, social media, and industry trends world-wide
Duties & Responsibilities
Agency contract to support branding and marketing efforts for BO&FL
Centralized department communications procedures, guidelines, and GIs. Build communications guidance and compliance: develop, produce, publish policy and procedures, and corporate guidelines
Build Affiliate communications capability and BO&FL oversight authority; less dependence on a few comms SMEs; more shared comms resources and talent internally and within the Affiliate network
Increase stakeholder collaboration, direction, support on department events, meetings, showcases, etc., by embedding SME for project support
Develop a Core Messaging Plan to support clear and consistent messaging to the business
Coordinate with internal organizations to develop more robust online content and social media messaging
Support agency contracts for branding and marketing efforts
Strategy session with base oil leads to identify communications needs for the creation and development of the Communications Plan
Set Core Messaging Workshop dates with divisions and core groups
Provide ad-hoc, high-level, communications support (new JVs, Dakar, F1)
Align Base Oils Affiliate network with corporate directives
Management of branding and marketing agencies
Support marketing, communications and public relations functions
Agency contract to support branding and marketing efforts for BO&FL
Collaboration, support, input required from key areas within the company (i.e., Corporate Affairs)
Development of organizational matrix and reporting procedures
Authority and accountability to advise, consult, and direct communications and marketing objectives for BO&FL business
Compliance with corporate policy and procedures, GIs, BO&FL directives
Increased communications capability within internal and Affiliate organizations
Improved core stakeholder communications
More impactful awareness initiatives, campaigns, deliverables
Consistent online content and social media messaging
