Role: Manager, Credit Governance & Control
Location : ADIB HQ
ROLE PURPOSE:
This function will serve as an in-house Governance & Control function for Credit team covering all Businesses & Geographies. The function will ensure Governance over underwriting processes in terms of identification of potential weaknesses in the processes and emerging trends coupled with ensuring compliance with Credit policy and applicable regulations.
Key Accountabilities of the role
a. Support the Head of Credit Governance & Control in establishing a sound Credit culture and process in the bank
b. Covenant monitoring including; adherence to credit covenants, undertaking and other terms and conditions of a credit facility files including DOA
c. Ensure adequate governance vide periodic checks to ensure that the credits approved are in-line with the applicable regulations and product programs
d. Identify areas for automation to increase efficiencies and support cost rationalization
e. Conduct event-based reviews to assess process and policy compliance
f. Support in establishing Early- alert and Past dues reporting b obtaining reports from Risk team
g. Provide appropriate inputs in formulation of Credit policies & Product programs
h. Provide inputs for Provisioning based on the portfolio performance
i. Interact with product team, Credit, Risk and Credit Operations team for Credit related matters
j. MIS & presentation preparation for management review
k. Portfolio monitoring to manage overdrawn or overdue status of accounts, minimize credit policy deviations /deviations from underwriting standards/deviations from industry specific acceptance criteria etc
Skills:
- Thorough understanding of Credit life cycle, Banking operations, Policies, Regulations, Compliance and Risk management is a must
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- UAE working experience of 5+ years is a must
- Familiar with the CB UAE regulatory regime
- Analytical Thinking & Business Oriented approach
Previous experience:
- A minimum of 15-18 years of professional experience in Banking with deep knowledge of product, processes and services. Candidate should possess a strong Control mindset
- Good understanding of business, finance, economics and current affairs
- Candidate should have managed teams and should have a proven track record and achievement
