About the work

Vedder Price is looking for two (2) Billing Coordinators to work from 9:00am to 5:00pm CST. The billing coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and appropriately detailed client billing, supporting designated attorneys on client accounts. We are looking for someone with experience in updating systems, improving processes and delivering innovative ideas. This is a practical position that involves working independently and proactively on all aspects of daily billing with all offices.

As a billing coordinator, your roles will include, but not be limited to:

  • Review and bill attorney hours and client disbursements
  • Review and edit proformas in response to attorney and secretary requests
  • Apply funds retainer as instructed by attorney
  • Process disposals in accordance with company policy
  • Ability to execute complex accounts in a timely manner
  • Ability to understand fees exception, discounts, multipayor and electronic Billing/eHub
  • Ability to handle a large volume of bills per month and prioritize accordingly
  • Act as a resource and interact and communicate in a way Effective with Attorneys, Secretaries, and Clients
  • Review and verify billing accuracy and provide supporting documentation as needed
  • Research and answer questions about billing issues and issues
  • Create billing reports and spreadsheets for analysis as needed
  • Organize and maintain billing files
  • Ability to assist in preparing documentation for court exhibits
  • Specialized projects as assigned
  • Ad reporting -hoc as requested

Qualifications and experience

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in billing in a preferred professional services or law firm environment
  • Exposure to Elite or 3E accounting software preferred
  • Currently two positions available, both 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • The position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines

Computer Skills

To runIn order to successfully work, an individual must be proficient in the following software:

  • Elite or 3E accounting software experience preferred
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel
