Basic purpose

The main function of this location is to plan and order routes in a timely, accurate and efficient manner using computer programs.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Using specific software, route trucks by matching customer orders to the appropriate loads assigned to trucks.

Using specific software, it balances the loads per trailer according to the size and weight of the product and the pallets to be loaded.

Create cost-effective routes while maintaining customer needs.

Work closely with sales and warehouse departments to determine delivery feasibility.

Prepare various reports on a daily basis, such as route change request, sequence change request, new customer request, etc.

Maintains system parameters of routing software (RoadNet and Mainframe)

Supervision

RELATIONS

Internal: transport supervisor and/or transport manager; Associates Sales Office and Warehouse; Delivery drivers, freight forwarders and department clerks.

External: Customers.

Qualifications

Education/training: high school diploma/GED preferred;

Related experience: a minimum of 2 years in a related environment

Knowledge/Skills/Skills: Must be able to read, write and communicate in English in relation to work and safety regulations. Must have IT skills:data entry, general report generation, spreadsheet design, data manipulation, mainframe downloads. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). Possess the ability to solve a series of problems of a rather non-routine nature with a certain independence. Ability to work at set times and any overtime required.
