Job description
Storage Engineer
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with team to design and implement the infrastructure for new and existing systems, particularly Microsoft On-Prem IT Infrastructure Services, Disaster Recovery Services.
- Perform installation and maintenance for Hyper-Converged Infrastructures
- Perform installation and maintenance Storage Systems; DellEMC and Hitachi
- Perform installation, maintenance and support of system software, hardware, database, and infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and availability.
- Implement and enhance systems management tools and procedures.
- Keep accurate documentation of processes, standards and baselines across multiple environments, generating status updates of assigned projects and problems.
- Assists customers in diagnosing problems and on systems installation, maintenance and upgrading.
- Responsible for analysis of systems to ensure operating within specification
- Reports to the Senior-level security engineer Team Lead or Managing Director of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Science, Engineering, or other relevant degree
Experience
- At least 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience with substantial exposure to both in-house and shared or out-sourced systems, multiple hardware platforms, and integrated information and communications systems.
- Experience with Mid-range or Enterprise Solution such as DellEMC or HPE.
- Experience with HCI Solutions such as VMware VSAN or Nutanix.
- Knowledge of Veeam or other well-known backup Solutions.
- Knowledge of Backup equipment’s: robotics (HPE, Quantum) and Backup-to-disk Appliances Dell DataDomain or HPE Storeonce.
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux
- Experience in networking: IP addressing, equipment, VLAN and Subnetting
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Comprehensive knowledge of:
- Equipment and software characteristics of various computer systems and good understanding of system features and their integration capabilities including pilot testing, installation, evaluation and operational process.
Proven skills in:
- Written and verbal communication
- Interpersonal relationship building
Demonstrated ability to:
- Relate to all levels of the user community
- Implement and support systems in a complex IT environment
- Set and manage priorities
- Create and motivate behavior change
