We have a small and growing team of trained UX designers working across our entire suite of product lines to create engaging, end-to-end user experiences that deliver measurable customer and business results. forAbout the role The Director of User Experience will report to the Head of Product Development and is responsible for strategic oversight of the UX Design team, inspiring the team to partner in our business to address the complexities that come with software design financial business. This function will monitorto the UX Design team and will partner through research, strategy development, definition and product design. We are looking for a strategic leader, product owner and team player. Our ideal candidate is excited about the opportunity to elevate design in our organization, advance through challenges, and help shape the UX team within our organization through managing and mentoring team members. forWhat will you do:
Advising senior business leaders within the Product Development organization, partnering with them to set the strategic direction for user experience and design across existing and future-focused product lines and platforms. prospective and technical direction in all product lines. Break the vision down into meaningful strategic initiatives that you can take and add marked value along the way. Collaborate deeply across disciplines – product management, technology, customer-facing teams, and direct customer partnerships to deliver high-value end-to-end solutions. Lead, mentor and grow our team, with a focus on partnering and leveraging existing synergies and individual strengths of people who work together and build trust and enthusiasm in the team. Ensure the design is consistent with our approved UX guidelines and interaction patterns. Lead user experience design using participatory and iterative design techniques, including customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of requirement discovery. Transcend ideastraditional, providing innovative creative processes and ideas. and new ways to collaborate across disciplines for client work Leading and growing our design efforts around research, testing, validation, and establishing metrics for success Own tools and processes for design execution and research, documentation, and collaboration. voice to advocate and communicate the user experience and design strategy to stakeholders. forWhat we would like to see:
Strong design instincts, a deep understanding of interaction design, user-centered experience design, and fundamentals of the creative process. To establish design and creative direction, and promote design principles. Attractive presentation style and visual communication skills – Someone who is excited about the work their team is doing and knows how to spread that enthusiasm. Live Interest in Owning Big Interaction Problems and Providing Thought Leadership is vital to propelling them to success through collaboration with product owners and engineers. Ability to lead a user-centered discovery phase for projects, such as holding workshops and facilitating discussions with partners Experience in integrating design workflows with agile teams BA/BS required, Master’s degree in a related discipline preferred Design Previous experience with design systems creation and administration preferred Previous experience in enterprise financial technology design preferred. 10 years of experience in a user experience and/or design field.forSS&C Advent is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse workforce.
