Position summary
The food service worker can work anywhere on the property where the food is prepared. This person will assist in setting up and serving food from steam counters and tables. The tasks will concern the cleaning and sanitization of equipment and workstations. General position responsibilities include those listed below, but Sodexo can identify other position responsibilities. These responsibilities may vary between accounts, depending on business needs and customer requirements.
General responsibilities
- Read recipes and/or product information.
- Estimate food needs.
- Use a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, mix, strain, season and knead foods for cooking, serving and storage.
- Helps in the preparation of hot and/or cold food and preserves properlyfoods, using knowledge of temperature and spoilage requirements.
- Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
- Maintain records and requests for supplies/equipment as needed.
- Cleans and sanitizes workplaces and equipment following all Sodexo rules and procedures, clients and regulations.
- You can taste the products to be tested.
- Sets up stations with appetizers, soups, salads, bread, condiments, other food products and utensils.
- Provides general storage tasks in the service area.
- Serves and replenishes food from steam counters and tables (sometimes using a food conveyor belt) and knocks down stations at the end of meals.
- Make coffee and tea.
- Other beverage areas may need to be stocked.
- Interacts with customers in the service, retail and restaurant areas.
- Assists customers in opening containers and cutting food when required.
- Attend all in-service training courses on foodborne allergies and diseases.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures regarding safety and risk management.
- Promptly report all incidents and injuries.
- Attend regular security meetings, security training and risk assessments.
- Compliant with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.
- Participate in training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
- Can work on a tray to distribute food.
- Can perform other duties and responsibilitiesassigned.

Experience/Knowledge
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- No previous work experience is required.

Physical requirements
- Near vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
- Walking in a meaningful wayor other means of mobility.
- Ability to work standing for long periods (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to reach, bend, bend, push and/or pull and lift frequently up to 35lbs and occasionally lift/move 40lbs.
Working conditions (may add additional conditions specific to the defined workplace):
- Generally in an indoor environment; however, he can supervise external activities and events.
- Variable schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours based on business needs.
- In carrying out his duties, the employee is mainly in a controlled and temperate environment; however, it may be exposed to heat/cold when supporting external activities.
- The noise level in the workplace is generally moderate to loud.
