General use

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate looks in the eyes, smiles and greets all Clients in a courteous and friendly manner, treats other Associates with respect, efficiently follows all corporate best practice standards outlined in all work centers, always maintains an area clean and ensures correct presentation of the goods. The Retail Associate is expected to be engaged in these assigned duties throughout business hours and to perform a variety of functions in all areas of the Store as required by business needs. The Associate may be required to perform additional duties in specific situations if performing these duties will help achieve our customer service and operational goals.

Essential functions

  • He understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behavior in everything he does.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness in the sales department to createa safe and secure shopping environment for everyone. Keeps exit clear and orderly at emergency exits. Immediately correct or report any unsafe conditions or practices for store management.
  • Treat all customers and employees with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times. Recognizes fellow associates who use corporate recognition programs.
  • Assists customers in any way necessary: ​​He is trained in registration, assists customers with merchandise, and answers customer questions in a polite and competent manner. Greet all customers by looking in the eye, smiling and waving throughout the store, as well as thanking each and every check-in transaction.
  • Provides quick and efficient responses to customers at all times. Answers customer service calls immediately. Handles all customer issues in a courteous and helpful manner, calling a member of the store management when needed.
  • Represents and supports the company’s branding at all times.
  • Performs business cleaning services such as sweeping, cleaning, dusting, cleaning counters and mirrors, restocking toilets, and disinfecting high-contact areas including the front end, sales floor and restrooms to help maintain merchandise, customer areas and the team.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company’s dress code at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, dusting, cleaning counters and mirrors, and restocking bathroom supplies to help maintain merchandise, customer and team areas.
  • Performs assigned sizing and recovery daily based on best practicescompany to ensure a tidy, clean and organized store that is well maintained and efficiently marketed according to standards.
  • Accelerate receipts of newly received goods for the sales plan with a sense of urgency, merchandising of all items according to business best practices according to monthly submission guidelines and keeping familiar with the merchandise/brand name within departments to assist customers.
  • Includes prevention awareness program of losses, the Shortage Highway, the position of Store Protection Specialist (SPS) (if applicable) and the standards of protection of the goods.
  • As a representative of Ross Inc., demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions with Associates and Customers. Safeguard confidential information, cash and credit cards, and merchandise.
  • Follows all Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) policies, including identification of MOS merchandise, proper processing of each piece and Store Leadership’s notification to review and approve all disposals.
  • Follows all policies and procedures relating to cash, checks, debit cards and redemption transactions, cancellations and offline procedures. Maintains a high level of awareness and accuracy when handling bankable offers.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to perform your role efficiently. Maximize productivity by performing all store best practices and minimizing steps and steps in your workflow.

Required special qualifications and skills

  • Communicate effectively with customers, associates and store management in a friendly, respectful, collaborative and enjoyable way.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations of base commonly used in retail environments.

Physical requirements/Ada

  • Ability to use all equipment in the shop, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of the working time standing , walking and moving around the store.
  • Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach and bend down.
  • Ability to push, pull and occasionally lift more than 25 lbs.
  • Ability to use cleaning equipment, wheeled shelving, ladders and other assigned supplies.
  • Some assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
  • Associates who work in warehouse shifts: ability to push, pull and lift regularly by more than 20 pounds.
