Contract – Law Enforcement Leadership Instructor (Part-Time and Remote)

We have partnered with a Global Training Organization to lead the search for a Deputy Law Enforcement Leadership Instructor .

In this unique contractual role, the qualified candidate will work remotely and travel as needed to training sites. A record of conservation law enforcement is essential!

Must have’s

  • Conservation law enforcement history (eg, ranger, game warden, department of natural resources, criminal investigator, wildlife refuge officer, conservation law enforcement officer
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, ie PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.: 10%
  • Adaptive leadership training experience
  • Must be willing to travel

Annually, the Assistant Leadership Instructor must assist in providing adaptive leadership instruction for two 15-day training assignments each year, two annual 10-day training assignments, and one annual training assignment. 3 days annually virtually or in person to train between 12 and 40 participants per mission. This position will be guided by the lead instructor.

Between 1-30 days prior to the start of each training session, Adjunct LI must provide, at a minimum, a 1.5 day Systems Thinking/Adaptive Leadership peer group coach training course, virtually or in person.

The Deputy LIwill enhance international efforts to combat illegal wildlife trafficking by facilitating courses designed to achieve the following outcomes in alignment with the organization’s core objectives.

Under this contract, the Deputy Leadership Instructor will

  • Independently provide support services to meet the organization’s overall operational objectives.
  • The main objective is to support international training missions.
  • These overseas training missions are in support of combat wildlife trafficking training missions conducted for participants from Africa, Southeast Asia, Central and South America.

This position will

  • Provide leadership and other subject area instruction in training programs. Specifically, this instruction would include adaptive leadership and systems thinking training at the academy, offered at least twice a year, providing continuing leadership education for attendees of Alumni events and virtual environments.
  • Instruction in other basic and advanced training programs offered to its partners, virtually and in person, both in the country and abroad.
  • These missions take precedence over any additional courses that fall outside this scope of work by mutual agreement with the Administration.

Curricula provide an overview of various wildlife trafficking topics that are reinforced through field exercises. Curricula focus on techniques, investigative procedures, and conservation leadership. It encourages interactionbetween instructors and class participants and focuses on exchanging information and techniques in combating wildlife trafficking using US investigative techniques. The courses emphasize the importance of developing and maintaining national contacts for the exchange of intelligence between agencies. This open dialogue throughout these courses provides the opportunity for host nations to gain insights into specific wildlife trafficking issues faced by participating countries. Instructors offer available techniques and methods to tackle specific wildlife research questions. This exchange of intelligence and cooperation in investigations is crucial in combating international wildlife trafficking.

Remuneration

  • Contractual position (part time) that pays $500.00 per day for approximately 70 days from April 2022 to December 2022
  • All Travel are pre-paid per customer
  • Daily for meals
  • There will be 16 training events per year with an average of approximately 70days of instruction annually @ $500 per day = $35,000.00)
