The BDR Business Development Representative supports Business Development Managers (BDM) in acquiring new insurance partners, working through inbound and outbound leads.
This function has the option of being hybrid or remote. Hybrid workplaces give team members the flexibility to partially work from our Denver or DC office and from home. Remote team members must live and work in the United States * (* excluded territories) and have access to a reliable, high-speed Internet.
How will you do it
- Expand your business distribution network:
- Identify, research and engage with partners to grow your distribution network.
- Cold Call for New Business – approximately 50 calls to potential partners daily.
- Purchase andmaintain the knowledge necessary to talk about the Pie Value proposals and demonstration when necessary.
- Ensure partnership to contract identified opportunities .
- Taking advantage of alternative ways to capture the attention of potential customers.
- Assist in directing new and creative ideas on how to obtain additional sources of leads.
- Collaborate and support team members:
- Qualify prospects through a series of questions to understand their business needs and identify the best fit for Pie .
- Schedule and schedule meetings between potential partners and our business development managers.
- Manage prospecting systems for business development managers.
- Make sure all activities are properly noted and updated in CRM.
The right things
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 6 months sales development experience is preferable.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of working with CRM systems are highly desirable.
- Skills using collaboration tools such as slack and Google-based communication tools (Google docs, spreadsheets, calendar and G-mail) are preferred.
- Fast problem solving skills to generate engagement and pivot quickly when needed
- Middle selling skills and ability to influence decision makers.
- Professional resistance to handling objections and maintaining a positive attitude
- Strong communication skills: skillof being on the phone most of the day, talking to potential customers.
- Proven ability to work quickly and respond to rapidly changing environments.
- Intermediate organizational skills: Must be able to handle a high volume of daily calls
- Strong adaptability and flexibility skills: Willingness to test new initiatives and projects to ensure we continue to innovate.

We value and want to support our team members and are proud to offer a comprehensive compensation package that includes the following:
Compensation range for position: $20.00 -$23.00 per hour
This is an incentive pay-based position and as such there is no guaranteed commission amount. The OTE is approximately $65,000 and is based on successful compliance with standard metrics and key productivity indicators.
