Supports the die casting operator in producing good quality parts to meet standards.
Must be able to operate the hydraulic balancer press, keep the casting belt unloaded and prepare castings for shipment and/or secondary operations.
Able to exchange finishing and configuration dies according to configuration sheets.
Manually remove gates and guides as defined in the work instructions and inspect parts as necessary to ensure product quality.
Operate finishing presses to remove excess metal as defined in the work instructions, inspect properly as necessary to ensure product quality, and identify and mark parts in accordance with the instruction sheets.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., Reach and lift moderately heavy parts – up to several hundred reps per shift.
Help the smelter with data exchanges.
As the position requires – stand, bend and/or rotate for at least 8 hours a day.
Required to complete paperwork associated with the job. (time card, machine card, production records, graphics, preventive maintenance records, etc.).
Work safely so as not to put yourself or colleaguesof work at risk. Report unsafe conditions.
Wear necessary personal protective equipment.
Capable and willing to work overtime.
Participate in training programs deemed necessary by the company.
Position requirements
Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Must have at least 1 year of steady work history. Must be able to read and understand written directives. The predominant form of instructions are visual and verbal. Cut traders must be able to translate verbal orders into actions. This is the second level position in a progression step to becoming a Die Cast Operator. Ability to read, write and use math required. This is a physically demanding position.
