What does a deputy director do?
- Assist the store manager in the operations of opening, closing, shift change, delegation of activities and planning of staff members.
- Welcome customers, offer assistance with products/services, resolve customer complaints.
- Check ledger counts, change orders and bank deposits. Assist the store manager with accounting responsibilities as required.
- Assist the store manager with inventory management and merchandising.
- Assist the store manager with execution of sales plans.
- Store manager assistance with external and internal maintenance of the store.
- Assist the store manager with vehicle maintenance and inspections, if applicable.
- Assist the store manager with training new hires or continuing training of existing staff.
- Monitor staff daily performance and provide redirection if needed.
- Communicate regularly with staff members.
- Help store manager in implementation of best practices, system conversions, store restore or remodel, and program supportof the supplier, if necessary.
- Assist the store manager in executing operational feedback and performance improvement plans by the division manager.
- Responds to customer inquiries regarding product selection, order entry, price and quote inquiries, complaints and delivery planning, and provides follow-up to customers.
- Prepare bids and material estimates from customer or contractor projects.
- Initiate phone calls to customers to generate sales.
- Coordinate the purchase and delivery of products special. Get information on pricing specifications, usages and availability.
- Enter customer orders, pricing information and additional data into the computer system.
- Create sales tickets.
- Credit research, returns
- Attend executive meetings, financial reviews and training events as required.
- Additional tasks, as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of retail experience, at least 1 year in a direct sales role, previous supervisory experience a plus.
- Physical ability to perform activities that may require a prolonged standing, sitting and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds without assistance; can lift over 25lbs with or without assistance.
- Knowledge of store inventory control and merchandising preferred.
- Results oriented with ability to serve storeswith humility and being an administrator of Nation’s Best’s values.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to consistently deliver superior customer service skills.
- Ability to react appropriately under pressure.
