for The telephone counselor provides short-term counseling, crisis intervention, gambling evaluation, and EAP case management services to clients over the phone. forfor Responsibilities

• Provide short-term assessment and counseling services using a solution-focused brief therapy model over the phone
• Provide crisis-related telephone consultations or assess situations urgent when required. Assess customer needs and record customer information.
• Counseling is provided in a 50 minute session and documentation takes place for the remainder of the counseling hour with 10 minutes at the end of each session devoted to notes.
• Provide clear and concise information to customers about the EAP Services and the Gambling Services.
• Refer clients to the appropriate internal and external resources as needed.
• Establish and maintain case files and other pertinent client documents. Detailed and comprehensive case notes for all clients.
• Attendto continuous learning sessions, training and case consultations on a regular basis.
• Comply with the objectives of the session, containment and others defined by the Clinical Manager
• Must stay updated on relevant regulatory and legislative developments
• Act as ambassador of internal and external service

To be successful as a Telecounselor the following qualifications and basic skills are required

• Master’s degree from an accredited university program in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling/Education or related field.
• Must have a full clinical license and be able to practice unsupervised (ie, LCPC, LCSW, as applicable to applicant’s home state).
• Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment.
• Pre-assessment, crisis intervention and short-term counseling experience
• Preference will be given to candidates with training/experience in counseling focused on brief solutions and substance abuse treatment through of volunteers, academic or work. experience
• Excellent communication, problem solving, collaboration, cultural competence, interpersonal, self-care, time management, and organizational skills.
• EAP and previous telephone counseling experience are assets.
• Excellent communication, consulting and case management skills
• Familiarity with community resources
• Customer service experience
• Strict compliance with the ethical principles that govern legislation on confidentiality/privacy
• Excellentorganizational skills
• Solid computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer). for
