Lee Enterprises is hiring an entrepreneurial, audience-focused business reporter to cover the economy, healthcare, agriculture, and development in central Illinois. As the economy recovers and the workforce adjusts, this is an exciting time to cover business news and entrepreneurship in our area. The region is home to electric vehicle maker Rivian Automotive’s massive assembly plant, is the world headquarters for State Farm Insurance and Country Financial, and serves as the North American headquarters for Archer Daniels Midland. We also have a wide portfolio of industrial, small, medium and family businesses. We’re looking for a collaborative reporter who delivers scoops, has an eye for unique stories that connect with our audience, likes to dig deep and analyze, and is comfortable with alt. stories, podcasts, social networks, videos and interviews on camera. We are especially interested in informing about trends, technology, innovation and young professionals in our area. This reporter will contribute to The Pantagraph in Bloomington, Herald & Review in Decatur, and the Journal Gazette & Times-Courier in Mattoon-Charleston, as well as Other News Organizations at Lee Enterprises. This role is based in Bloomington, Illinois and may include some weekend shifts and holidays. A leading provider of local news, information and advertising, serving 77 markets in 26 states.
