We have a fantastic opportunity for Kitchen Production Assistants to join our Southampton team on 12-hour, 16-hour contract and 30-hour contracts. This is an exciting, fast-paced role, and you’ll be joining a great team!
In the IKEA world, we call this role a Food & Beverage Co-Worker.

CONTRACT INFORMATION
IKEA is a Living Wage Foundation Employer (£10.10 an hour as basic hourly rate rising to £10.90 an hour effective 01 January 2023).
For the 12-hours a week contract, this will usually be worked over 2 or 3 days a week.
For the 16-hours a week contract, this will usually be worked over 4 days a week.
For the 30-hours a week contract, this will usually be worked over 4 or 5 days a week.
We operate 7 days a week and so full availability to work during the daytime, late evenings, and full weekends is essential (between the hours of 07:00am and 21:00pm).

What You’ll Need To Have
Are you a team player with a passion for food and people? Do you know your meat ball from your plant ball? If so, then we are looking for you.
We are looking for someone like you to help us deliver a taste of Sweden and a great customer experience with high quality, sustainable food. You will contribute to a passionate and friendly team to deliver a better everyday life for the many, while embracing change with a solution-orientated mindset. This is an extremely fast paced working environment and requires you to multitask, producing and serving food with regular heavy lifting.
Prior experience in food is desirable, but not essential if you have a ‘roll up your sleeve’ mindset to the various tasks and challenges that present themselves. If you have previous experience within a kitchen – for instance, in catering or food production, we want to hear from you!
Due to Health & Safety regulations, applicants must be over the age of 18.
What You’ll Be Doing Day To Day

As a Food & Beverage Co-Worker, you will report to one of the Food Managers or Team Leaders and work alongside them in the kitchen help to create a safe, healthy, delicious, sustainable, affordable, and joyful food experience for both the customer and the co-worker.
You will be ensuring amazing food quality, so that our meals are served consistently.
You will work to produce food – including cooking large quantities of our Swedish meatballs.
You will work to minimise food waste, ensuring consistent portion control and upholding our commitment to sustainability.
