About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Humanities HOD to lead the Humanities Department and teach History at GEMS Wesgreen International School – Sharjah from January ’22.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• A B.Ed or relevant Bachelors degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent specialising in History (other Humanities subjects also welcome)
• Significant experience teaching GCSE and A-Level or equivalent at a British Curriculum school ideally in an international setting
• A proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning
• Demonstrable leadership and/or supervisory experience in a similar capacity
• January ’22 availability
• Willingness to commit to extracurricular activities
• A creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom
• Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents
