Position summary

The store consultant consistently delivers a positive customer experience to all customers, using consulting skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives and provide solutions. This customer service focused team member is well versed in all areas of the store’s business, including printing, sign and graphics, and shipping. They will be responsible for receiving orders, coordinating in-store activities, providing pricing and product information, and recommending appropriate FedEx Office products and services. The store consultant will manage and maintain a wide variety of equipment, move boxes and equipment, stock materials, manage production queue and output, manage complex projects, manage retail supply, and complete assigned tasks based on priority.

  • Follow the instructions ofsupervises and assists other team members in carrying out shop functions
  • Assistance in training shop team members

Service

  • Dedemonstrates advisory behaviors in a retail environment to understand each customer’s individual needs
  • Provides customer expertise in printing, signage and graphics and in shipping product lines and can recommend appropriate FedEx Office products and services
  • Provides an exceptional customer service experience using consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives and find solutions to meet needs of customers
  • Ensures that all customer problems are resolved quickly and to customer satisfaction
  • Takes complex customer orders using ordering systems and provides accurate pricing information
  • Assemble the packages and prepare the goods for shipment by wrapping the items in insulating material, placing the items in the shipping containers, weighing the packages and applying labels to the packages
  • Sets up and manages printing, binding and other related equipment using original customer supplied media and documents
  • Maintains a safe, clean and/or retail store derly

Profit

  • Ensures confidentiality of customer data and careful management of documents, media and packages
  • Process financial transactions using a Point of Sale (POS) terminal, including cash and change management
  • Cleans, repairs and stores all equipment and materialsretail store printing and shipping supplies to provide optimal performance and availability
  • Stay up to date on retail store merchandising materials and ensure proper display of all area product and signage
  • Take preventative measures to prevent errors and waste
  • Complete required financial documents and can help with financial reporting, including daily sales, closures and bank deposits
  • Follow FedEx Office’s standard operation procedures and adhere to legal, human resources, safety, customer service and security policies and procedures

  • Performs multiple tasks at the same time
  • Seeks opportunities to improve knowledge and skills within the store
  • Able to operate under supervision minimum
  • Adheres to all standards of FedEx Office team members and retail stores as outlined in the team member manual
  • All other necessary or required tasks

Minimum qualifications and requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • 6 months of specialist experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • For new hires, they must meet all FedEx Office job qualifications in effect at the time of hiring
  • For current FedEx Office team members, they must meet the hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook

Essential functions
