Salary Level:

  • $62,556.00 – $80,721.00

Salary is proportional to experience and location.

Duties: Candidates must:

  • Comply with strict standards of conduct.
  • Conduct a rigorous background investigation, credit checks and a polygraph to obtain a Top Secret Release of Compartmentalized Confidential Information (SCI).
  • Pass a physical fitness test (PFT); must be physically fit to complete the training.at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, and maintain a high level of fitness throughout his career.
  • Pass a medical examination, which includes, but is not limited to, visual gathering and hearing patterns.
  • SuccessYou will have approximately 19 weeks of work as a Special Agent intern while staying at the FBI Academy in Quantico.
  • Upon graduation from the FBI Academy, be available for transfer to one of the 56 FBI Field Offices, including San Juan, Puerto Rico, or remote resident agencies (satellite offices) to meet FBI needs. Special Agents rarely return to their processing office. Applicants must ensure that their families are prepared and supportive of this change.
  • Throughout your career, be available for temporary assignments anywhere in the world, whether temporary or long-term.
  • Work a minimum of 50 hours a week, which may include irregular hours, and be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays and weekends.
  • Be willing and able to participate in arrests, execute search warrants, raids and similar assignments.

In addition, all Special Agent candidates must successfully complete the Special Agent Selection System (SASS), a mentally and physically challenging process designed to find only the most capable candidates. The selection process typically takes a year or more to complete.

Main requirements: Candidates must:
