Provide oversight of the Enterprise Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Services-Quality Systems department. This includes governance of the Quality Management System, Vendor, Co-Manufacturer and Specification Programs; responsibility for the Food Safety and Quality training program; validation and maintenance of the Enterprise Quality Management System (Intelex); and customer and consumer complaint oversite. Provide support of Quality Assurance programs and plant support for all facilities. Participate as a member of the Senior Quality Leadership Team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide overall governance of the quality management system. Create, maintain, and implement a quality system documentation program that serves as the repository for DFA’s policies, procedures, and work instructions Ensure alignment with applicable regulations, customer requirements, and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)
- Standardize compliance procedures. Ensure consistency throughout DFA and coordination and implementation of new procedures. Work with Training Coordinators to ensure education and competency of all programs and procedures
- Oversee the validation and maintenance of the Enterprise Quality Management System (Intelex) to ensure data integrity and compliance to requirements. Ensure Intelex is appropriately validated and maintained
- Oversee the content of the Food Safety and Quality Training Program, including metrics for training and comprehension
- Serve as a backup to the Food Quality VP or assist on an as needed basis
- Partner with the customer and consumer complaint department to oversee complaint handling, provide metrics, and ensure timely and effective closure of corrective and preventive action (CAPAs)
- Provide oversight of activities of vendor programs to ensure that DFA has current databases for all ingredients, packaging, and finished product specifications, contract services, co-manufacturers, outside warehouses, and other vendors. Provide oversight of Vendor Quality Expectations programs, co-manufacturer auditing, and quality expectations and customer request for information for all facilities
- Serve as a liaison between R&D and Quality for finished product specifications. Work with R&D and Procurement on ensuring robust raw material specifications
- Own the metrics for Enterprise Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Services. Align on a dashboard enterprise wide, data analytics and publishing metrics. Coordinate with quality leadership to ensure CAPA effectiveness

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
- BS in Science field such as Food Science, Microbiology or related discipline
- Master’s Degree in Science preferred
- 10 years of food industry experience, including prior successful management of processes and personnel
- Experience working in a manufacturing plant
- Experience assessing food safety of formulas and ensuring finished product and raw material specifications are capable of delivering safe food
- Knowledge of QMS, SAP-QM, and LIMS database structures
- Strong food safety background and knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of statistical tools, metrics and dash boarding
