Cloud Solution Architect | £110,000 + Bonus + Package | Greenfield Digital Wealth Advisory Platform | Remote
A Digital Wealth Management house requires a Cloud Solution Architect to work on a brand new, Web & mobile platform they are building from scratch. As a business, their focus is on the personal relationship they develop with customers, underpinned by multi-channel customer reach and global investment expertise via a digital Investment Management platform. Entirely in the cloud, taking advantage of powerful commoditised offerings, the firm are building a bespoke cloud-native solutions.
The Cloud Solution Architect Role:
As Cloud Solution Architect within the Architecture and Engineering team, you will provide distributed system architecture consultancy across all delivery teams, from the integration of new SaaS to in-house built solutions. In doing this, you will ensure alignment with core architectural principles ensuring the FinTech build a robust architecture that focuses on avoiding undue complexity and over-coupling, and supports the firm in their goal of becoming a truly data driven organisation.
As a Cloud Solution Architect you’ll be involved in the design, steering and implementation of cloud native solutions and key components from monitoring, alerting, account automation, teardown, general health checks, applying good practice and patterns, service mapping, secrets management and vulnerability management.
You will ensure the DevOps direction set out from the very start and is maintained throughout delivery, and that IaC and automation decisions are documented in an appropriate, but still lightweight, manner. In particular, we encourage the inclusion of ADRs within the code bases for this purpose. You will work collaboratively, using an agile methodology, with software engineering, Infrastructure and DevOps teams to build operationally robust and secure systems, with low cost of ongoing change, and high levels of automation in build and deploy.

Remuneration:
This Cloud Solution Architect role is paying up to £110,000 + bonus + benefits
The role is a remote-biased way of working, meaning that the organisation have no ‘set days’ in the office, however if there is a reason for the Tech leadership team to be in person (client workshop, project kick off etc..) then office locations are London City (they also have an office in Leeds)
Skills Required:
- Lead the architectural design and DevOps processes, be hands-on when needed, from scoping each project for implementation or upgrades, diagramming and educating developers and DevOps as to best use Azure and other cloud services.
- Deliver proof-of-concepts, provide direction to development and DevOps teams, and support the implementation process where necessary
- You come from a background in cloud architecture, in which you demonstrated an eagerness to expand your set of skills and learn new technologies, adopting best practices and have experience working across different cloud vendors
- Ideally 5+ years, full time experience with:
- Concepts: Distributed Systems, Monitoring Design, Decoupled Designs, Cloud First Designs, End to End automation, SSO (Okta/azure ad), zero trust infrastructure design, DR (active-active and pilot light), after-the-fact monitoring and alerting
- Tools: AWS, Azure, Terraform, CloudFormation, NodeJS, Bash, PowerShell, Docker / Lambda, CircleCI, GitHub Packages and Actions, SonarCloud, Aqua Cloud, Intruder, Okta, Azure AD, SQL.
- The firm predominately use AWS but experience with equivalent tools and services in Azure is desired. You’ll have a solid understanding of the opportunities and how to maximise our use of cloud computing
