Brewery Manager Shropshire Working for one of the countries leading independent brewers is a special thing to be part of, but what if you could be the one leading its production to ensure the reputation, quality of beer and distribution are kept at an all-time high. Salopian is an independent brewery based in Shropshire, that have been brewing for over a quarter of a century and built an enviable reputation for quality, consistency, and drinkability. With a brew length of 80hl, cask ale is at the heart of what they do, but also complemented by in-house bottling and canning lines to produce an array of small pack, including their acclaimed ‘Black Range’. With continued growth in mind, a rare opportunity has arisen for the newly created position of Brewery Manager to lead and manage all elements of the production of Salopian beer across their Core, Seasonal and Black Ranges, alongside development of new recipes and techniques, stock management, and their efficient distribution - this is an opportunity not to be missed. This is an all-encompassing role which will have quality, beer, and people at the heart of everything you do. About the role. Not only will this role see you supervise the production of these wonderful brews from start to finish, overseeing every aspect of the production process, you will work closely with the Head Brewer to create brewing and packaging schedules, and ensure that beers are produced to ensure maximum quality, consistency, and profitability. Working collaboratively with the team you will lead the formulation of recipes for both small and large production runs and have full responsibility for quality control, so that every brew is to the expected high standard which customers have come to expect from Salopian. Having full ownership of the brewing process you will coordinate beer movement throughout the brewery, including implementing changes in production goals, forecasting, improvement on production processes and managing material supplier relationships. You will lead the brewery teams and have line management responsibility for the Head Brewer and Distribution Team Leader who you will support to deliver the businesses plans and goals. About You You will have a background in brewing with the appropriate qualifications and extensive hands-on experience across cask, keg and small pack production and packaging. You will have a passion and understanding of beer and quality control and know how to implement changes to innovate and improve recipes, processes, and procedures.
