Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
The post holder will provide clinical leadership for the CRT in the central area, which has a combined caseload of up to 50 patients, including people placed in specialist supported living or admitted to Independent Hospitals. They will work with the two local Authorities who provide a range of individual and hostel based supported living schemes. They will work with the North Wales CHC to review out of area placements and develop individual patient recovery pathways.
3 sessions: Supporting Professional Activities
The post holder will be expected to take part in Clinical Governance activities and participate in the Health Board’s appraisal process. The post holder will be expected to provide Specialist Training for trainees on the North Wales rotation of the Welsh Deanery Training Program for Psychiatry. The post holder will be expected to take part in the management process and give clinical advice to the Health Board and partnership agencies delivering care to people within the catchment area. The post holder will have the opportunity to take undergraduate/teaching placements supported by the North Wales Clinical School. Research opportunities will be available, supported by the Chair and Department of Mental Health Studies, Glyndwr University, Wrexham.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide specialist rehabilitation and recovery service for the adult population of the Central area.
The post holder will work within the legislative arrangements of the Mental Health Measure (Wales 2010) providing medical leadership to the CRT.
The post holder will have inpatient facilities at currently at Cynnedd ward(locked rehabilitation currently 8 beds) and Tan y Castell rehabilitation unit, Ruthin (currently 8 beds). As well as responsibly for patients admitted to units in central area as agreed by the clinic director. There currently a program of service redesign so the location of services and numbers of inpatients may vary as this progresses.
The post holder will have access to an office, full time secretarial support and IT facilities.
There is the possibility of supervising a doctor in training (CT1-ST6), but it depends on the training needs and seniority of the post holder.
