About the work
As an Army National Guard Unit Supply Specialist, you will ensure that your Unit and other soldiers are well-supplied and equipped for any mission.
In this role, your keen eye and manageability will keep your warehouse functions running smoothly. You will oversee the transport, storage and supply of Army National Guard equipment. This includes receiving, inspecting, billing, storing and delivering supplies. You will: ensure all documents are prepared and organized; maintain automated systems; protect and control weapons and ammunition; and schedule and provide maintenance for weapons.
Duties of Work
- Distribute and receive small arms. Secure and control weapons and ammunition in secure areas
- Schedule and perform organizational and preventive maintenance on weapons
- Operate unit level computers

- Procedures for handling medical and food supplies
Useful Skills
- Interest in math, accounting, accounting, business administration and/or typing
- Ability to keep accurate records
- Enjoy the physical work
- Interest in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment
Through your training, you will develop the skills and experience to enjoy a civilian career as a control clerkstock, parts clerk or shopkeeper in factories, repair shops, department stores or government warehouses and warehouses.

On-the-job training requires 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you learn basic Soldier skills. You will then participate in eight weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which consists of six weeks of additional training. Part of that time is spent in a classroom and part in the field under simulated combat conditions. ”
